About
Wythebank is a detached Lakeland Cottage situated in the tranquil hamlet of Hodge Close which nestles on the side of Holme Fell, in the little valley it shares with High Tilberthwaite, between Coniston and Little Langdale. It is ideally placed for both walkers and mountain bikers of all abilities. Park your car up for the week and discover the joys of Coniston Old Man, Tarn Hows, Wetherlam, The Langdales and beyond with a different walk every day.
Local attractions
With all that exercise you can afford to treat yourself to visits to Chesters by the River Coffee Shop in Skelwith Bridge or fine hostelries such as The Old Dungeon Ghyll, The Black Bull, Coniston, The Brittania, Elterwater, The Drunken Duck and, your very own local, The Three Shires in Little Langdale.
Comfort with character
The cottage has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 comfortably. Upstairs the bathroom has a P-shaped bath with thermostatic shower, downstairs there is a separate monsoon shower room. There are two sitting rooms, each with their own woodburning stove. The larger sitting room has a TV and DVD player, and the smaller snug has a piano. The well equipped kitchen/diner has a dual oven cooker with induction hob, microwave and dishwasher. A separate untility/boot room contains the washer/dryer. There is wi-fi which is fine for streaming music and we've used BBCiPlayer but you couldn't describe it as Superfast! We welcome well behaved dogs (we just ask that they don't go upstairs or on the furniture). For your safety the cottage has an advanced fire detection system installed but please be aware that in the unlikely event of an emergency this is a "self-evacuation" property.
